The Ghost in the Shell ~ Video Game Soundtrack, first released in 1997, became an iconic work symbolizing the collaboration between techno, anime, and gaming. Takkyu Ishino served as the sound director and compiler, and legends who shaped the history of techno such as Derrick May, Westbam, and Hardfloor contributed to this masterpiece. Following the double-CD release, this highly anticipated analog edition is finally being reissued!
As 90s techno experiences a resurgence in popularity, this 2LP set—long coveted for floor use—returns. It includes new additions such as Hardfloor's Spook & Spell (Fast Version), previously not included on the 1997 vinyl, and a remastered To Be or Not To Be (Off The Cuff 2024 Redefined Mix), supervised by Derrick May himself. The artwork expands on the world of Ghost in the Shell through techno sounds, and the original 1997 art direction and Yamato-e illustrations were done by contemporary artist Takashi Murakami.
